RSPC members and friends are involved in a variety of different programs impacting the local and greater communities.

The One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be received this year on Palm Sunday and Easter. The offering is split among three projects: Presbyterian Hunger Program (36%), Self-development of People (32%) and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (32%). Money from the latter project has been helping in the relief efforts ongoing in Louisiana (Katrina), and in Haiti.
The Six Star Refugee Partnership is supported by a coalition of local Atlanta churches who have worked together to support refugee families from all over the world who relocate to the Atlanta area.
We prepare and serve meals once a month to residents at the Druid Hills Night Shelter.
RSPC helps provide homes during holidays for International students as well as hosting an annual New Year's dinner for visitors in Atlanta affiliated with the Atlanta Ministry With International Students.
RSPC provides volunteers and resources to help many programs including those sponsored by:
Bobby Benton coordinates a Blanket and Food ministry for the homeless. Bobby and other RSPC members prepare and serve meals at the Pine Street shelter and also distribute blankets during the winter. The "Ten Dollar a Month Club" is still in existence. This money pays for blankets and food for those who find themselves homeless. These donations continue to be a major source of funding for Bobby's Blanket and Food ministry.
Thanks to all those who are clipping and donating the labels and boxtops for Thornwell School. These are used to make sure the children who live there have school supplies.
Reminder that the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child are due back by Homecoming, November 8. There are still many boxes available for those of you who have not picked one up yet. We want to make sure we have plenty of boxes to share with those who otherwise would have nothing.
Sunday, October 4, 2009, was World Communion Sunday and the Peacemaking offering was taken on that day. Fifty percent of the money goes to the denomination, 25% to presbytery and 25% stays in our own church for our own peacemaking efforts. Donations can still be made - just clearly label as "Peacemaking Offering."
